NOTES FROM PARADISE is an installation that deals with the mental abysses and the decay of human idealisation set in an overdose of positivity in the post-digital age. In the context of a ‘romantic reality’, the work builds a tension between expectations and disappointments, emotionality and the photographic surface.
Symbol-laden digital paintings printed on canvas come into confrontation with aggressive texts on holographic foil, staging a communication between post-Instagram traces and flashbacks of WhatsApp conversations. In this work I deal with the temptation towards the staging of positive relationships in online appearance, where time is the silence that breaks the delicate illusion.
